Spider Serpent Elephant

The name of the town is a combination of three words,

1. 'Sri' meaning a spider, 
2. 'Kala' meaning a serpent and 
3. ‘Hasti' meaning an elephant. 

these three creatures worshipped Lord Shiva at the site to attain salvation.
